I am Josiah Neos and I come from a family that loves athletics. My father is George Neos (Dartmouth College football 1990-93) and mother is Bethany Neos (played SMC volleyball and daughter of Robert Scribner - UCLA football 1969-72 and LA Rams 1973-77). I am a triathlete playing football, basketball, and track/baseball.
During my freshman football season (2016) I played varsity football and was added to the CIF Southern Section 8-man D2 Honorable Mention, all while playing on a 2nd degree hamstring tear. My sophomore season (2017) I was selected to the 1st Team All League. In my junior season I shared the league Defensive MVP. I hope to have a senior year that exceeds all previous years. Football has greatly increased my mental toughness and brought out things I didn’t know about myself, good and bad. It is teaching me how to be a man.
Aside from sports, I am a Christian and strive to live a righteous life daily. Playing music, especially the piano (I am a self-taught pianist), is something I really enjoy and do daily. Christmas carols (I sound out by ear) are among my favorite songs to play. I love my family and am close to my parents and 6 siblings, as well as having a very close knit distant family. Also, I am very close to several men in my church family who have mentored me and helped me shoulder the many responsibilities I carry.
