My one dream since I was little was to play sports at a higher level. Playing in college will allow me to do that. The first time I saw a college football game live was with my grandpa at age six. From the moment I stepped into that stadium I knew what I wanted to do after high school. When I lost my grandpa two years ago, I told myself that I would play every game for him and do whatever it takes to play in college.
Sports have also allowed me to stay focused in school. When Covid hit and my school went to home learning it was extremely hard for me. I couldn’t focus, I missed my friends and teammates. The only thing that kept me going was the team zoom meetings, the texts with my teammates, and knowing that I would get back on the field and mat soon. I know that if I can play sports in college, it will keep me motivated and I will be able to accomplish anything in the classroom.
What separates me most from the other athletes is my drive, my heart, and my willingness to never give up. I play for fun while also trying to be the best at what I'm doing weather it’s on the field or in the classroom.
While my passion is playing sports, I’m also very passionate about earning a college degree and whatever that may be, I know sports will help me achieve that goal.
