Jonathan Spivey '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jon Spivey and I would like to tell you about myself. Both in the class room and on the field, I pride myself on being a team player who can motivate my teammates and others around me to achieve higher goals than they set out to accomplish. If I am struggling in a class, I will put in extra effort and energy because one thing that I refuse to do is quit. I will never sit out during drills or a game. That is not me. I go until the coach has to tell me to take a break. I play until the second whistle. I am a 5'7", 190lb running back and line backer at Exeter High School in Exeter, NH. William Ball is my head coach and I am a tri-captain for this year's, 2010-2011, DI season. I was the running back MVP at the National Underclassmen Combine in Scarborough, Maine in June and received an invite to the Ultimate 100 Camp in July. Some of my statistics include a 4.78 40-yard dash, 17 reps of 185 pounds, a 4.43 shuttle, and a 31inch vertical. I am looking for a school where I can not only get a degree, but also become a well-educated and well-rounded individual. Also I am looking for a college with high academics where I can get a great education and be prepared for a pre-med or an engineering program. I would like to I have the freedom to explore a variety of subjects and ideas. I like the idea of having a smaller class size to allow for a better teacher student relationship. Also, I would be interested in a college with undergraduate research options. Athletically, I would like to play early and make an impact at the highest level of competition that I can possibly achieve. I would like to play at the tailback or slot-receiver position. I know that this goal will not come easy and that I would have to work hard to earn my spot at these positions. My goal is to play football at the collegiate level while I pursue my education. I believe that the college I attend will find our relationship to be mutually beneficial. I will work to become a model for other students and athletes alike.
