There are few things that I have experienced that are so clear and concise as running. It is just you trying to get to from point A to point B quicker than those around you. This simplicity has made me fall in love with the sport. Besides the fulfilling feeling that follows a run and getting faster, I am enthralled by the comradery that comes with distance runners regardless of team or speed. I wholeheartedly respect the people who cross the finish line last more than the ones that cross the finish line first. They are the ones who struggle worst and for the longest. That is why at meets no I make sure to stand at the finish line and give a high five to anyone that is willing. I may have been lucky with the teams or coaches that I have been on but this positive energy I have felt everywhere I have gone, I try my best at spreading. This energy I believe led to me being elected the first junior captain on the cross country at my school in over 20 years. I hold academics as one of the most important aspects of my life at the moment behind my family. A school is a place where you learn many skills that will help you later in life and I hope to attend a college or university that will push me both academically and physically but also a school that will allow me to become a well-rounded, personable, selfless individual that is best able to serve the common good.
