What sets me apart from my teammates is my academics as well as my character. Since starting on varsity since my sophomore year I've learned that failure will come, but that failure only motivated me to get better for the next season, meaning not only working on my craft, but pushing my teammates to do the same. As a team captain for two consecutive years, my teammates not only look up to me on the field, they also come to me for guidance in the classroom. As an athlete I know that academics always come first so I have always been able to manage both football and academics.
Although my team hasn't won a championship, and are currently striving for it, we have been able to make the playoffs every year. Even though that may be considered an accomplishment , the accomplishment for me was being able to make a big impact on both sides of the ball and help my team get there. As center, I'm the leader of my offensive line which means its very important for me to be able to communicate with my team and develop my leadership skills. I hope that I will be able to take those skills to the next level and make n impact there as well.
