I was the past junior quarterback and the rising senior quarterback for the Bolles School. My high school motto at the Bolles School, "pursuing excellence through integrity, courage and compassion" perfectly describes me a 6'3" quarterback on the varsity team. Placed into action as a sophomore, when our senior quarterback was injured, these qualities became vitally important to lead my team as we faced the extremely tough and talented Class 4A opponents who are nationally known from Florida football. I eagerly stepped up to help our team against our rigorous opponents in the first quarter in my first start with over five of our starters knocked out by injuries. I had been well prepared by Coach Corky Rogers, whose over 433 career victories have placed him first in state history as the most winning football coach in Florida. Through hard work and discipline in his program our varsity team was runner up in the State Championship both this year and last year. I have learned consistency, dedication and leadership skills from Coach Rogers.
As a young quarterback facing legendary Florida teams, including American Heritage and Booker T. Washington, I am learned every second I was on the field, soaking up the experiences, and became a better quarterback because of them. I am competitive, quick thinking, and fight hard every second on the clock. Discipline and consistency have led me to success in the classroom at the Bolles School as I have earned a 3.75 cumulative average in accelerated course work. The Bolles School is a nationally known preparatory school, not only known for it's sports programs, but also its academic rigor and excellence. Fortunately, my personal road map has always been clear to me as I was raised in a family of Division 1 athletes. I recognized early that academic and athletic excellence is only obtained by those who work hard and that balance with "courage, compassion and integrity" in all aspects of one's life. While I recognize I am still growing both physically and mentally daily, I know that with continued discipline and dedication on the field and in the classroom, I can achieve the success in football that is necessary to take me to the college level.
I led a very young team this past season to a successful season. As starting quarterback I threw for 2,150 yards and 26 touchdowns. For most games I only played until half time due to the high score so that others could gain experience. Although I am have verbally committed to University of Kentucky, I continue to train hard with my 7 v. 7 team, Pro Impact throughout the South, and compete at key Combines and Camps, such as Nike Opening, Rivals, etc. to become better in the off season.
