Hi, my name is Meagan Donovan. I have grown up in a very competitive family who loves sports. My mother played college tennis, and my father played college football. I also have many other family members who played various college sports. While growing up, I have heard many stories regarding their joys of playing sports, especially collegiate sports. I love playing for more than myself. Every year, I look forward to the spring when I can play for my high school team. I love the feeling of winning for a team. Although I mainly play singles, the high school season also excites me because doubles is a huge factor in accumulating points to win. And, I love doubles! This year my partner and I went 14-1, only losing in a competitive three-set match in the state finals. My volleys and my forehand are my favorite shots. Unlike many girls, I like to use my volleys as a part of my game style. I love challenging myself in tennis and in school to always get better. In school, my GPA is above a 4.0 and I made the top 10% in 10th grade. Outside of school, I love traveling and serving others. The past two summers I have traveled to Haiti and Puerto Rico on mission trips with my family. Last spring break, I volunteered at a Panda Reserve in China with my school. Lastly, I think what separates me from many girls is my hard work ethic, perseverance, and positive attitude. I always give my best effort. I would love to go to a school where I can challenge myself on and off the court to be the best.
