My name is Alex Hoag I am a three year Varsity starter at Venice High School. Here is some background on myself. I participated in martial arts for five years before I began to play football. What I have taken from that is flexibility and explosive hand and foot movement. I am able to do a full split and a back flip in full football uniform.
Football to me isn't just a hobby it is my life, when I'm not eating, sleeping, or in school I'm in the weight room or on the field honing my skills. I will not quit and I pride myself on my mental toughness. Last season we didn't have enough starters to only go one way so I started O line and played every other series on D line, with a couple games playing full time both sides with few breaks. I have never missed a workout or practice for my team weather it is mandatory or not.
I think the thing that separates me from other recruits is my explosiveness out of my stance and with my hands and my ability to rise to a challenge, the best way to get me to do something is to tell me you don't think I can.
In college, like any other athlete, I would like to become the best that I can be. This meaning that I would like to be paired with the best defensive lineman coach out there along with an outstanding defensive coordinator. I hope to get a degree in business management so after school I can run a business directed towards helping kids reach their athletic potential.
