Jonathan (Big John) Tyler Summey, 6’3", 270lbs., Left Tackle, for Winter Springs High School, Winter Springs, Florida... Football is not just a sport to me, it is my passion. As a child, I was unable to play Pop Warner because of my size, once I reached High School, my first move was to join the WSHS Football team. Winter Springs is an new school in the area and the program is also in a growth mode, as a result, the program has struggled to reach its full potential. This did not discourage me at all, I was determined to play the sport that I truly love. For the past few seasons, I have been learning as much as possible about my assigned positions, as well as working out on the weight lifting team, with personal trainers, and a speed coach. I have always worked hard at being a leader on and off the field. An example of my determination to achieve greatness in my life, would be represented when I earned my Eagle Scout after being told that I couldn't by so many of my peers. I don't know about everyone, but this ignites something in me and motivates me to strive for excellence. Even though our team has not won every game, at the end of the season, I always knew I gave it my all and I had learned more than I knew the last game. My desire is to play college ball. I have attended 6 football camps, and have continued to improve my game. At the end of my Senior Year, I will be in peek physical condition, and will be able to play for your team with maxium performance. As a result, I will continue to strive for excellence with the right college coaching and training program. The type of training that a top rated football program can offer some one with my potential. I am ready! As far as my future is concerned, I have given a great deal of thought to a career in law enforcement. I would like to study criminal justice, with the hope of becoming a police officer and eventually a DEA agent.
