Personal Statement
I've always had a gift for writing and a knack for history, and I aspire to use this gift to spark a change in society. Every day we are subjected to the views of American society; through studying history (and hopefully abroad), I want to gain an international understanding of how, through their cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs, people enrich the global community. Having an appreciation for various life experiences shared by humans will allow me to help redefine our perception of humanity. Since I was 7, swimming has been an emotional outlet and a source of accomplishment for me and I hope to continue this passion throughout college.
