I currently am weighing in at 160. I am a rising Senior at Kennesaw Mountain High School in Kennesaw, GA. I have participated in 3 sports during my high school career, football, wrestling and track. My personal record for the 40 was 4.40 and 53.55 in the 400. This upcoming season I will be a two-year varsity starter on the football team. I wrestled on varsity my freshman and sophomore year and I placed 6th in the county as a freshman and I was fourth in the region my sophomore year. I have been a team captain all 3 years. Some of my proudest accomplishments have been receiving the coaches’ award for Offensive Player of the Year my freshman season and this past season I was selected to receive the highest honor, The Mustang award. This is the coaches’ choice award for the student athlete who displays, hard work, the right attitude, team focus, and all around high level of accomplishment. My first season as the starting varsity Quarterback, I broke the single season touchdown passing record, of 11 touchdowns and broke the single season passing yards record, of 1244. Although our team faced a lot of adversity, I was determined to go out and give it my best every game. I spend a lot of time off the field training to continually improve my skills. I work with a personal Quarterback coach and also a speed and agility coach. Although I have primarily played at the Quarterback position, I consider myself to be an all-around athlete. It is important to me that I achieve greatness; I strive to make a positive contribution in everything I do. In addition to my love of football and athletics in general, I put forth a great effort to excel in the classroom. I have been recommended by teachers to participate in a Peer Mediation group, Sources of Strength, where we listen to issues and conflicts within the student body and attempt to resolve the issue and find a solution. I have done community service work with the special needs children that play baseball. Going to college is a dream, being able to play football in college is a bigger dream. I don’t necessarily have a specific region or school size that I would like to play for or attend. What is important to me is being able to attend an institution that values a balance between education, sports, college life, and a degree that affords me the ability to start a career upon graduation. My parents make a modest income, but I will need financial assistance to attend college. I am focused toward a degree in Psychology or Mathematics but I am open and looking forward to the opportunities that best highlight my strengths. I am a coachable athlete, I respect authority, I have an even- leveled temperament and get along with all kinds of people. I have a strong faith and belief in family values. I believe you are given one shot at life and I am determined to make the most of mine; to make my parents, younger sister, my community, and everyone who played an intrecal part in my development proud. One of my favorite quotes is "If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward." -Dr. Martin Luther King jr.
