Charlie Grossnickle '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Charlie Grossnickle and I am a 6 ft.5 in. 257 pound Senior at Stratford Academy in Macon, Georgia. I have played football since 7th grade and love the game. This season I am starting at Right Offensive Tackle, where I have started for three years and have played since freshman year. I am also playing Defensive End.  I played Defensive Tackle in my freshman and sophomore years before being transferred to DE last season. In college ball, I am willing to play wherever the team needs me to play. I have a large frame and have added 15 pounds of muscle over the past year.  Since May, I and a small group of my teammates, have been working with a speed and strength coach.  Over the summer we met four times a week, in addition to our scheduled football workouts.  Last year I played varsity basketball and ran track, placing 7th in the state in discus which contributed to our team State Championship.  Up until last year, I swam on the JV and Varsity Swim Teams, winning two State Championships as an 8th grader. I have lettered in all four varsity sports in which I have competed.  My GPA for last year was a 3.9, with 3 AP classes and an advanced Pre-Calculus course.  This year I am taking three AP courses; English, Statistics and Government.   I am willing to play football in any division, as long as the school is highly challenging academically. I am interested in majoring in History, which is my favorite subject.  I have submitted all of my Boy Scout Eagle Project paperwork, and will have my Board in the next three weeks.
