I have a passion to play football at the collegiate level. I've been playing football ever since the third grade. Football and athleticism runs in my blood, my dad and two uncles were all-state football players in high-school, and my mom was a multi sport athelete in high school and went to Indiana University on an athletic scholarship for field hockey . One of my uncles even played college football at Western Michigan. Both my dad and his younger brother, Jeff Wright, grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, playing football against the Harbaughs. Despite my very good life, I've had to overcome some adversity. In October 2016, my mom went into cardiac arrest at a workout facility around 5:00 am. At one point she had no pulse, but lucky a defibrillator at the workout facility jump started her heart. She was transported to the hospital, and throughout that morning it was unclear if she was going to make it. My mom did wake up from the induced comma she was put in, and recovered steadily. The doctors say it was a miracle, and I have God and my mom's health and athletic background to thank for that. It gave me a new outlook on life, one that tells me to always put my best foot forward, whether it's in school, sports, or life, because you never know what tomorrow will bring.
All throughout my life, school has been very important to me. I've always managed to maintain good grades, and I'm looking for a school that will fit my athletic desires, but also my academic ones too. My weighted GPA of my freshman year was a 96.3 out of 100. I know this is a pretty solid GPA, but I would love to build off it, and even improve it in the coming high school years, through AP and Honors courses. My faith is one of the most central, if not, the most central part of my life. I am a practicing Roman Catholic, and my life revolves around my faith. I would definitely not be where I am today without the help and guidance of God. I've used my faith to serve others, particularly in service projects throughout the year. On average, I usually do about 20 hours worth of service during the school year.
