Dear Coach,
My name is Joshua J Brown and I am a RB born in Fort Myers, Florida and raised in Lilburn, Georgia and I attennd Brookwood High in Snellville, Georgia.
2011 was my first year playing varsity football at Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia as a sophomore. I was elected by my teammates to be on Brookwood Football's Leadership Council for the 2011 season. On varsity, I started as a CB and I was a back-up RB to two upperclassmen. During the season, I earned the following Awards: "Defensive Player of the Week"- Sept.19, 2011; "Coach's 100% Player of the Week"- Oct. 21, 2011; Gwinnett County Touchdown Club "Player of the Month"- Oct.2011; "2011 All-County Second Team Defense"; and Scohlar Athlete for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. I lettered in academics as a freshman, and as a sophomore. I also lettered in football and track and field as a sophomore.
In 2012:- As a Junior I am still on the Leadership Council. I start on Offense as a RB/FB, on Defense as CB, and also help with special teams kick return and hands team. I have earned the following Awards so far this season:- "Player Of The Month"-Sept. 2012 (Gwinnett County TD Club); "Offensive Honor Roll"-Sept. 7th (Gwinnett Daily Post); "Offensive Honor Roll"-Oct. 5th (Gwinnett Daily Post); "Defensive Player Of The Week"-Oct. 26 (Gwinnett Daily Post); "Special Teams Player Of The Week"-Oct. 26 (Brookwood H.S. Coaches); "The Kevin Maloof Award" Dec.6th, given to a Player Who Puts Team Above Himself by the Gwinnett County Touchdown Club. I was selected and I played for the East team in the AT&T Georgia Junior Bowl (www.RisingSeniors.com) Dec.27-31, 2012, where I scored the only TD for the East team in a 10-7 loss.
In 2013:- As a Junior I Lettered again in Academics and was selected as one of only three students in my school to attend the 8 week IDEALS Foundation Leadership School where I graduated April 28, 2013. I was then accepted to the NFL/Wharton Prep Leadership Program where I will attend in June 2013.
I am looking for a college where performance in the classroom is more important than performance on the field. My ideal institution would offer a major in physics or astrophysics. My athletic environment would be preferably one where I would be able to make the biggest impact as soon as I can. On any sports team, I favor the role where I can lead my team to victory. I am open to playing on any level as long as excellence in academics is not compromised.
Thanks for taking the time to read my personal statement and learn more about me. I look forward to hearing from you and learn if based on my film and profile, you think that I will be a good fit for your school and athletic program.
Sincerely,
Josh Brown.
