My name is Aedan Baker and I am from Challis Idaho. My goal is to be able to play football in college. I am currently playing on the Challis High school football team as a senior. I play starting tight end on offense and starting defensive end on defense. I also play quarterback when necessary. Essentially, I play wherever the coach and team need me to play, but in the past four years, including long snapper, and I haven’t missed a down of varsity football. My best position is at defensive end, I have played defensive end since I was five years old and have attended many camps at that position. I have been on varsity for the past 4 years and am co-team captain this year. I consider myself to be a leader on and off the field as I have a high level of intensity and tenacity. My height is 6’ 3” and I currently weigh 185 pounds. have gained 40 pounds and am excited to see what I can do this year because my size is finally catching up to my football IQ.
I was named first-team all-conference for defense/ DE this year.
On Max-preps for 8-man football, I am currently ranked 3rd in the nation and 1st in the state of Idaho for SAKS, with a total of 17 SAKS in 6 games, with an average of 2.83 SAKS per game.
My stats for this year are:
Defensive stats:
6 games, 22 solo tackles, 23 assisted tackles for a total of 45. 8 tackles for a loss and 17 saks, with a total negative yards at 77. I also had 11 hurries and 1 pass deflected.
Offensive stats:
6 games played, 4 carries for 30 yrds, longest carry 15 yards, 13 receptions for 241 yards, the longest reception was for 88 yards. Passing completions were 6 out of 15 attempts, 2 interceptions for a total of 144 yards. I had 1 touchdown pass and my longest pass completion was for 50 yards. I scored 12 points with 2 receiving touchdowns.
I also played special teams as the kicker and long snapper.
My coaches this year were Andy Baker, Brad Krosch, and Les Webb.
I carry a cumulative GPA of 3.93 and am in the National Honor Society. My goal is to play football at the college level. Beyond that, I want to major in business and come back to Challis to run my family business. We own a restaurant, The Challis Roadhouse and raise all the cows that feed the restaurant. I have been working for my family for the past four years in support of the business. I also have been in an electrical apprenticeship with 7C Electric Company through my mentor, Journeyman electrician, Corey Arneson. I also volunteer in the meals on wheels program through the local Challis Senior Center.
In addition to playing football I am a wrestler and pole vaulter. The past two years I took first in districts in wrestling and this year, as a senior I placed 2nd at state in wrestling at 182 pounds. I also took 2nd in state at pole vault. I like to play as many sports as possible even though I’ve always put football first.
