Where I come from, many young black men don’t have the desire or the means to go to college, simply because they feel they have to take care of home in the absence of an parent or family member, or they feel isn’t for them. I look at going to college is not an option, it’s something I must do, I refuse to be a statistic. Attending college will help me gain the skills and knowledge needed to prepare me for my future.
My career goal is to become a prominate physical therapists or even a occupational therapist. Furthering my education will not only help me to achieve this goal, but will also help me to become more independent, responsible, and will also enhance my social skills.
From the time I started playing football at the age of 5, I was always told “eat or be eaten”. That has been my motivation through my entire high school career. I have been a captain since my sophomore year , and those same words have kept me and our team motivated. Having the heart to play any position on the field is my strength on the field. I have always and will continue to strive for the highest.
