Above all I am a team player. Throughout my time in the game my teams have asked me to fill a variety of positions to cover gaps in the squad. I have always worked hard to be the best I could be at all of them, and been successful at earning starting spots in all those positions. I have played quarterback, half back, full back, tight end, guard, tackle, nose guard, linebacker, corner, safety, and punter in addition to special teams positions, often switching mid-game to cover for injuries and fill other needs as we evaluate the opponent, and performed well in all of them. Many times this involves sacrificing a position that I would prefer to play, but keeping the team afloat is definitely more important, for instance for my junior year due to personnel issues on the varsity level I took one for the team and moved over to starting receiver on offense and switched up to strong safety on defense to best serve the team as we had shortages in those areas with another strong quarterback candidate. I truly enjoy the game. Not just playing, but learning about the different skills and strategies, often discussing play design and implementation with my coaches as well as recruiting strong athletes for the team.
Academically I am strong, maintaining high marks in my subjects while taking a full class load of honors level courses and being a 3 sport athlete. My goals are to continue that level of performance through college while also continuing my sports career. While I am considering a career in Architecture or Engineering, I also have found that I enjoy coaching while working with the younger children. I started helping to teach martial arts at 10, and continue to occasionally do that, and help work with younger kids in various activities.
