Personal Statement

It's still so crazy to look at my life now and what it was a year ago. At around this time last year, My old coaches from Wheaton Academy told me no matter how hard I worked I would never be a successful high school quarterback and that I could just forget about going farther then that. That it was impossible. My Dad stood up and told them they were wrong and that if God was calling me to play quarterback, I would be a quarterback. I let those words fuel me this off season to get faster, to throw father, to read defenses better, to be the best I could be, trusting that God would hold up his end if I held up mine. God and I worked as a team and put together something pretty awesome. I am doing things on the field that everyone said I would never do. I would never have achieved all the alkaloids and statistics without God, a head coach that believed in me when few others did, some great training from speed, quarterback and life coaches that were saw potential in me and never gave up on me even when everyone thought I was a joke, teammates that have fought along side me and when I received me recognition for my success, supported me through it and were not envious of it, a school who stood behind me when while some loved me and supported me, most of Wheaton Academy called me out and tore me down. Saying I was over rated and not going anywhere. They defended me and encouraged me, telling me to keep playing my game and lastly, my amazing family. My Mom comes to every game and win or lose, just loves watching me play. My Dad is everything to me. Him being sick has really been the hardest thing of all. He loved and believed in me before anyone else and showed me to never give up no matter what. That with God, truly all things were possible. That God loved me so much that he tore his son to pieces on a cross so that I can live and have hope. I don't know how much time I have left with him, but I am so thankful for all the time I have had with him so far. He is truly the most inspirational, godly man I have ever met in my entire life. I would take his cancer from him in a heart beat. Yes my life is hard right now, but while everyone expects me to be mad at God, I am not, because I look at how much worse things can be. I look at everything I have right now and it makes me love him more. He has given me way more then I deserve, and I am so thankful for him and I will work everyday to achieve my ultimate of playing in the NFL, not for my own glory, but for his. I love this game because it brought me to all the things I have listed above but more importantly to God. So thank you Westminster, for all the love and support and thank you Wheaton Academy, for the endless motivation.
