Personal Statement

My intent is to obtain a college degree in Mechanical Engeneering.  I have always had a curious and engaged mind when it comes to how things are built and how they work.  My goal is to one day create or design something that not only benifits the individual, but helps to advance my country.

I consider myself to be an excellent candidate for your team because I understand that it takes many facets to build a winning team.  It takes the skills and character of the individual players, coaches, and trainers working in tandem to contribute to the whole.

I differ from other recruits because for me, character, acedemics, and athletics are not three seperate things, but one incredible force.   Each requires dedication, determination, stamina, and the ability to see ahead which webs them all into one another.   An individual must have character in both acedemics and athletics; acedemics or intelligence in your character and athletics; and athleticism or strength in their character and acedemics.  Each is not at its best on its own, but most successfull when combined.

Although at the start of my High School career my GPA was not at the level of my potential, I have assessed the sourse of my deficencies and have developed a solid game plan of focus and commitment and have put myself back on track and am now achieving my true potential.

I have always believed that talent is a seed who's growth can only be determined by the amount of hard work, commitment, and spirit I nourish it with.  I look forward to working hard and growing as a person with you and with my teammates.
