***Update November 6, 2014- I was named All Conference .
*** Update - 8-23-2014 - we are less than a week away from our first game. I had to change my number this year to 77. Our team needs me to play some Offensive line on top of starting at DT. I have taken some reps at center this pre-season but it looks like I will be rotating at the guard position. The team is really coming together and I can't wait. I will keep this page up to date as much as I can. Let the games begin!!!
My name is Brad Daniel, #77 in the video, starting DT on Varsity. If you view last seasons video, I was #90 on varsity. I have been playing tackle football since I was in fourth grade. I realized in 6th grade that football was my sport and I began training in a local gym. I have been very dedicated to my training since then. I am at the gym 4-5 days a week and attend speed training on Thursdays and Saturdays. I do compete as a wrestler to improve my balance, hand fighting and feet work, as well as conditioning. I did qualify for IESA state wrestling tournament in 8th grade.
I consider myself a dedicated leader for our football team, leading by example. I am usually the first one on the practice field and in the gym and one of the last leave. I have always been a good student. I have maintained at least a 3.67 GPA since 6th grade and continue to challenge myself with some honor classes in high school.
Many of my friends believe that my size and strength are my biggest assets to our team. I believe that my understanding of the game and clear view as a play develops is my biggest strength.
Since the 6th grade I have committed myself to playing football at the college level. I have been preparing myself physically and academically since then. Today it is my intent to enter college with a major of either Pre-Dental or Pre-Law.
*** Update – 6/2014 – I have been to several camps this year, including Northwestern and Minnesota State University-Mankato, to name a few. I have been in the weight room and conditioning for this upcoming season. My skills are increasing daily and the hard work is paying off. I can’t wait to get on the field, Friday Night Lights, here I come!!!
**** Update - 3/23/2013 - I just competed in the State of Illinois APF/AAPF powerlifting competition. This was my first competition and I competed in the AAPF division which includes drug testing. I took first place in the 100KG weight class and Broke the American Record for Bench Press and Total Lift!!!! It was a great experience and I learned a lot about myself and the work it takes to compete at a higher level. I have never trained for power lifting; I only train to get faster and stronger to achieve my goal of playing at the collegiate level. The technique and process of the competition, Red light and Green lights, pausing on the bench, smooth raise on the Dead Lift did lower my predicted lift totals, but I did win and broke 2 American records. All of my hard work is paying off!!!!! I can’t wait for this football season!!!!!
