My name is Dan Werner, and I am currently a junior football player at Mt.Vernon High School in Fortville, Indiana.
I played tight end my sophomore year (my primary position) but was moved to running back this season because three backs graduated, so my coach asked me to switch positions for team need. I was awarded both All-Conference and All-County honors this year by accumulating over 1,000 yards rushing. I also played both outside linebacker and defensive end, earning top honors in tackles and sacks. Football is in my family, as my father was a tight end in the NFL.
My Nike SPARQ rating from the Combine in Chicago was 101.16, ranking me #13 out of 811 athletes who participated. I am an athlete who is versatile, with tremendous ability, and a large frame which can be developed, including an 80" wing span. I feel I can be successful at many positions. In addition, I maintain a 3.75/4.0 GPA. Academics are important to me.
If you would like additional information from Coach Doug Armstrong, my high school coach, his email is [email protected] and cell is 317.457.5494.
