I have always had a love for all things mechanical; from a young age, I have been intrigued by how things operate. Achieving a degree in mechanical engineering has always been a dream of mine, and I am driven to take that love of operation and pursue that for the rest of my life. While my grades may not perfectly reflect my commitment to this dream, I have recently found out that I have dyslexia and a few other challenges. Upon the discovery of these challenges, I have sought tutoring, professional guidance, and direction, and made the honor roll with a 3.43 GPA the last semester of my sophomore year and the first semester of my Junior year with a 3.57. I am driven and committed to assuring that I will continue on this path and fully intend on finishing each semester of my high school career with over a 3.5 GPA.
The end of my Sophomore school year taught me a lot about putting my dreams into action. When the school year was interrupted and we were forced to school from home, I knew I needed to do something more. Spending all day at home would not be good for me: not keeping busy and not moving forward was not an option. I worked to pay for a truck, collaborated with my parents to get some advertising put together, and started a scrapping business. This allowed me to stay physically active, earn money, and not sit idly by. My business has flourished and I have earned more working my own hours and making my own schedule than most of my peers working in their part-time jobs.
While things may have started slowly for me in high school, I have developed a plan and am steadily working to achieve my goals. You will not meet another player with more commitment to my team and those around me. I believe in being part of something while working hard and making a difference. I believe that my concentrated effort in the last semester of 2020 and starting my business will show you that I am not afraid of hard work to make things happen.
