My name is Tanner Bandy. I am a senior at Clear Creek Amana High School in Tiffin, Iowa and just completed my senior football season. I am a 4.0 student out of a 4.0 scale and am currently enrolled in several college courses. My ambition is to continue being a student-athlete at the collegiate level, studying in the science fields.
I have been a four year starter for a class 3A Clear Creek Amana varsity football team, on both offense and defense. As a freshman and sophomore I played receiver and defensive back, both corner and safety under head coach Rodney Walls. During my freshmen year I lead the team in receiving yards and was third in the district, acquiring All-District Honorable Mention. My sophomore year again I lead the team in receiving yards, this time receiving first team All-District. Prior to my junior year Clear Creek Amana had a change in coaching staff, along with that came a change in coaching styles and offensive philosophies. Going from a Spread Offense to a more run oriented offensive team (Spread, I, Wishbone) while adapting throughout the season. This brought about many new offensive responsibilities for me and the team. During the season I played receiver, quarterback, and running back under the new running philosophy. I received first team All-District Honors under our new co-head coaches Ronnie and Matt Hughes. Along with starting at multiple positions on offense I as well started at many different defensive positions, these included OLB, cornerback, and safety.
I am currently participating in offseason weightlifting and agilities, Student Council, Student Assistance Team (a volunteer group at my high school), NHS, and as well actively participating in my church youth group. I am a three sport letter winner and have received All-District Honorable Mention and All-District in baseball. This past track season I qualified for the Drake Relays in the 110 hurdles and qualified for the state track meet in the 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, high jump and Distance medley relay. I finished 7th in the 200m dash, and 12th in the high jump. As well I have ran 400’s and 200’s at the Iowa State Track Meet and Drake Relays both my freshman and Sophomore years.
