Personal Statement

I am a 2005, 5’9”, 140 lb. Defenseman (recently made smooth transition to playing Center and Wing). I have 10 years hockey experience; AAA level for 6 summer seasons, and one regular season. I am an extremely coachable athlete and excellent team player, offering dynamic, fast-paced, quality play with insatiable determination and grit. I have participated in high-level clinics and camps for 9 years, attending body contact, shooting, power/hybrid skating, battle, stickhandling, and defense camps in 2018, and Elite Body Contact clinics, Power Skating, and Edge Training in 2020 thus far. Was awarded Player of the Week in two week-long camps, and Player of the Tournament with the Iowa Wild 2005 AAA team in 2018.

In 2019, I was awarded Player of the Year with the Cedar Rapids Junior RoughRiders, and my 14U team was awarded Team of the Year.

Currently attends hockey practice 4 times a week with the Cedar Rapids Junior RoughRiders, is a member of the FTC/STEM Robotics Team at Clear Creek Amana Middle School (Tiffin, IA), and participates in separate off-ice strength and conditioning training at StrengthU in North Liberty, IA.

In 2018-2019, 16-game regular season, playing at Center and Left Wing, I had: 8 starts, 57 shots on goal, 8 goals, 1 minor penalty, 13 assists, and 5 blocked shots.

Accepted into the Global Hockey camp in Las Vegas, NV, CCM Selects Training camp at the USJDP training site in Michigan, NCAA Ivy Shootout camp in New Jersey, CCM Selects Resident Camp in Illinois, and Legacy Global Selects family of teams, playing in the Green & White camp. 2019 tournament lineup includes 1 Northland Hockey Group tournament with AAA Rink Rats out of Iowa, 2 NHG tournaments with AAA Cedar Rapids team out of Iowa, Chi-Town Shuffle and NAPS Elite with Durham Hockey Institute out of New Jersey, and Chicago Shootout with Legacy Global Midwest. 2020 tournaments: Chi-Town Shuffle and Windy City Cup with North American Alliance, and NHG Combat Cup with Rink Rats.

I have my sights set on playing Tier 1 hockey,  Junior hockey in the USHL, and Collegiate level hockey as well.

I strive every day to be  a leader on and off the ice with my noteworthy commitment and dedication to my coaches and teammates. My parents (and extended family) quietly support me, keeping me humble, honest, and appreciative of the opportunities hockey has given me to travel the country, meet extraordinary people, and play the game I love.

  • We combine figure skating, speed skating, edge control, explosive starts and direction changes and stride as well as off ice strength and conditioning in our hybrid curriculum. “What is it about figure skating that is so unique? It’s the use of edges, it’s how we use our body to change direction on the ice. It’s something that makes all hockey players go ‘oh’.” -Four-time world champion Kurt Browning At this camp your child will be trained by a dynamic duo, a power/speed skating hockey coach along with a certified figure skating coach. Founder Jeff Serowik trained with a professional figure skater throughout his professional career as did many other NHL players. We found two of the most talented skating coaches in the nation to add quickness and precision to our camper’s skating. We teach explosive starts and acceleration, technique, form, hockey specific pivots, proper body position and kee bend, balance and weight shift. We develop what you already have in your own skating style. Powerful strides, backwards acceleration and speed, agility, mobility, edges, starts and stops. We just published an article on another key element to quick feet on the ice. Our strength and conditioning trainer, Brian McDonough, trains NHL and Hockey East players all summer off the ice in preparation for them gaining quicker feet on the ice in the fall. Both at camp and on our PRO AMBITIONS APP, we will be streaming a dry land conditioning regime to do as hockey homework where kids can continue to train their feet at home after they leave us. • 2+ hours on ice daily training sessions • one week of Pro Ambitions Camp=3 months season practice • emailed extensive player evaluation after camp • after camp care & hockey homework on Pro Ambitons APP • official Bauer practice jersey • achieving your summer hockey growth spurt
