My name is Joshua Lane Smith. Since a young age, I've always had the drive to succeed with determination learning through trial and error in whatever I've had my mind set to achieve. Starting with the two full days I spent on our trampoline, when I was 8, not stopping until I mastered the backflip!
I've been playing tackle football since 4th grade, and I cannot express to you how much enjoyment I have with this sport. From the team comradery to the structure and brilliance of the sport itself, I love the fact that Football gives me the opportunity to better myself in all areas.
I consider myself a "people person", I love being in groups, meeting new people, and helping others. I was honored to be chosen as my High School's Homecoming King for 2020. It was a very humbling achievement to know that I have meant a little to each of my peers in my high school career. I've always thought it important to stick up for the "little dogs" as well as make sure everyone sees their own strengths and how that is important in their life, including myself! I actually think this helps in becoming better teammates, friends, coworkers, and communities.
With that being said, I know my superiors will guide me to become better than I am; I'm always happy to be taught and learn to be better each day.
Over the years, since I was a Freshman/Sophomore, I have had an awesome time at various Football Camps I was fortunate to attend across the states. I have learned so much from these camps; Lyons Camp in Batesville, Arkansas, to K-State University in Manhattan, Kansas, Oklahoma State University, Oklahoma University....and several camps at Joe Dickerson's Elite QB training and I was individually trained by Joe McCulley, with conjunction with Joe Dickerson's monthly camp. I loved learning the fundamentals of these other positions (QB) to better understand the concepts and strategies needed in the game. Both of these amazing coaches are with The DeBartolo Sports University, and I admire them both tremendously. I'm very thankful for these learning experiences!
Thank you for your time,
Sincerely,
Joshua Lane Smith
