I have always enjoyed football, but it wasn't until my 7th grade year that I found my true passion for the sport. I played quarterback and safety my entire life, until I found myself stuck at the beginning of the season. I wouldn't be the starting quarterback and I believed I would only be a safety for the rest of my career. One day, my head coach tried me at receiver and I was better than I imagined I would be. That year, I went on to lead our middle school team in receiving yards and receiving TD's. I found a new love for football as a receiver and learned a valuable lesson that I carried over to the other aspects of my life.
From this experience, I realized the importance of dedication and commitment. I easily could have hung up my jersey and focused on another sport, but I didn't. I have incorporated this mentality into my daily life, whether it's education, religion, or sports. My goal is to keep this mentality and spread it to others, and your program would be a perfect opportunity for me to do so.
