Since I began playing sports at the age of 7, my coaches instilled in me the desire to give 100%. Every inch counts and every step that I take is the most important one bringing us closer to the goal. I firmly believe that on the football field if we all do our job then the team will succeed. I worked hard in the four years that I played Varsity football to be that team player. If the Coach put me in, it was my job to give it my all and support my team however possible. This past year I was successful on the football field as a running back, rushing for 1,851 yards in 184 carries with 24 Touchdowns. In previous years I was a utility player for our team filling gaps where the coaches felt I was most needed. As such, I played many positions on offense and defense. On defense, I've played cornerback, strong safety, outside linebacker, and even nose. On offense I've played running back, slot receiver, wide receiver, and H back. This varied experience has taught me many nuances of the game, made me a more rounded player, and has helped me tremendously as I settled into my primary position as a senior at running back.
During the school year, I also compete in other sports as my school allows me to be able to play multiple sports at the same time. I am a varsity member of the Basketball team, Tennis Team, Track and Field team, and Wrestling team. I have competed at the state level in Doubles and Singles for Tennis, Pole Vaulting for Track and Field, and also for Wrestling. I enjoy competing a pushing myself, and I believe this why I'm drawn to participate in so many sports.
Academically I have maintained a 4.0 GPA since 2nd grade. I also am enrolled in dual enrollment classes and have 12 hours in college credit accrued at this point. I am hoping to have 15 credits by the end of my Senior year.
I would like to attend college to gain a degree in Mechanical Engineering. As an engineer your whole goal is to create something that is structurally sound and safe, and you do this by creating something with a ton of support. In a similar way I would like to continue in both my athletic and academic endeavors at the collegiate level to create a lifetime of experiences to support me throughout all my future holds.
