My name is Sima Saavedra, and I'm a junior at La Plata High School in Maryland. I was born in Tonga and raised here in the U.S. My dream is to play football at the next level in college and play in the NFL. I'm a leader on and off the field. I am the first teammate to come and congratulate another teammate when they make a great play. I am also there with a hand to pick up a teammate or a member of the opposing side when they get knocked down by a big play. In addition, I am on the varsity wrestling team and track and field team. I have made it to the state competition multiple times in both sports. I'm a dedicated student athlete. I work hard in the classroom so that I am able to showcase my talents and abilities on the field without fear of becoming ineligible due to grade issues. One of the things I enjoy doing is serving my community through my church. My hope is to take the values that I've learned in my Army family to the college team that will have me.
