My name is Devonte Young and I'm a student-Athlete. I started playing football in the 3rd grade.During the years of my football life, I changed from many positions: quarterback, safety, running back, linebacker, defensive end, and Wide receiver. The reason I started I started playing was because I had a dream to be a National Football Player.I also wanted to help my parents by earning a free education while playing the sport I love. Two years ago I started running track to get faster for football. During my first year, I ran a 21.66 in the 200 at the state championship and a 10.93 in the 100. My team won the state championship in our conference in the 4x1 and 4x2. In the 2013-2014 football season (Gwynn Park) went undefeated until the second round playoffs. I'm a team player and I work hard to achieve our goal. My academic accomplishments is I made honor roll since the 10th grade. My SAT score is a 1260 .I'm going to aim higher to get a 3.5 GPA. Also I'm going to study more and practice on my SAT and take the ACT to make myself more recognizable for colleges.By helping the community, I mentor younger kids on how to run in track and I help my coach plan and organize track meets.
