Hi, I am Brian Carlin. My goal after high school was to play hockey and to follow in my grandfather’s footsteps by getting my degree in law enforcement. That has changed slightly as I still plan to get a degree in law enforcement but instead of playing hockey in college I found that I have a real talent for kicking a football. My mom got me into hockey as a 7 year old after my father past away to help me channel my anger and grief. Giving it up after 10 years to concentrate on football full time was not easy but I realized that I was a much better football player after only 2 years than a hockey player after 10 years. There are things that hockey taught me which I use in football and in life such as how to work well with others, stay positive in times of adversity, be disciplined, how to adapt to change and the importance of having a sense of humor.
