Personal Statement

My name is Toby MacPhee. Thank you for looking at my profile.   I am a Senior 2nd year Captain.  Our varsity team has struggled the past few years (decades) and I work hard everyday to motivate my teammates to change that.

I am 6’5”, weigh 235#, and am a defensive end/outside linebacker and offensive tackle.  I've even been a blocking back and ran the ball a few times last year.  I have played every critical snap on both sides of the ball the the last two seasons.  I realize nothing in life comes easy and football is no exception. I have continued to work out 5 days a week through Covid and even built my own squat rack and bench to do so.  Last year I joined track and playEd varsity basketball for the first time ever.

My biggest influences in life have been my parents, coaches, and my faith in God.  Collectively they have taught me that if I work hard and believe in myself, anything is possible.  A unique skill I possess is my ability to problem solve. I never run away from a problem and often times have the ability to make the corrections to fix it. I can think and adjust quick outside the box, but am also good at following direction.

My academics are extremely important to me. Although I have a solid 3.6 gpa, my goal is to reach a 3.7 gpa or higher and maintain it through graduation. I scored an 1180 on my SAT but will continue to take it in hopes of at least a 1250.  I realize having the best possible GPA and test scores will give more colleges the opportunity to consider letting me play for them.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
