My name is Michael Williams Jr. and I am a 5'9" 160 lbs S/DB. I have been a leader of my team on every level of football since I began at the age of 5. I was named a starter over senior players at Safety as a Sophomore on Varsity which was my first year on the team. I have continued with that same leadership by being named a Team Captain this year and starter at Safety for my Junior season at a new high school. I am an extension of my coaches on the field. I spend hours on end preparing and watching film not only on my opponents but of myself and my defense to see where we are strong and deficient in certain coverages or calls. For the last 2 years on Varsity football I have made all of the defensive calls on the field pre-snap and any audibles as well along with executing on the play. I find the ball when I'm on the field and often lead my teams in a number of statistical categories of which I am proud of. My goal this year is to lead us to a state championship and yes I believe that can be done from the defensive side of the ball. I have the highest football IQ on my team each year according to my coaches. Preparation for this game is something that I take just as serious as my schoolwork as I am a true student athlete with a current 4.33 gpa. In the off season I train continuously and work on any flaws I see in my game and I continue to strengthen areas where I am strong in. I train constantly on getting stronger, faster and more intelligent at the game as a whole. I know it's said often and may seem cliche but my goals are to continue to play this game on the next level and excel at that level to give myself a chance at my ultimate dream of the NFL. My preparation to the game each week of each day of every practice and my performance on the field on game day are what set me apart from all other recruits. I have been an asset to every team that I have played for on each level and l look to continue that in my college career. I look forward to the challenge that the next level will bring to me and I will work my hardest to answer the call.
