Austin Watts '13 Recruiting Profile

I am presently a sophomore at Gulfport High School in Gulfport, MS. I am 5'9" and 190 lbs. My personal stats are 4.73 seconds in the 40 yd. dash, 310 lb. bench press, and a 480 lb. squat. My current GPA is 3.8. I started for the varsity team at St. Patrick High School the last two seasons. In my freshman year, I started at defensive back and filled in at running back on offense. My sophomore season, I started both ways as a running back on offense and linebacker on defense. I was also the return specialist. I led my team in rushing, receiving, and scoring this year and averaged over 5 yards per carry. I was named the Offensive Player of the Week by our local newspaper the week of October 1st and was mentioned as a player to watch by the same newspaper on 8 occasions. I was also featured on Friday Night Highlights Video by our local television station the week of August 27th.  As a junior i start at outside linebacker for Gulfport High School. I thrive on challenge and competition and want to be at a college that has successful athletic and academic programs. I want to be pushed to my limits on and off the field because I want to be the best at whatever I do. Getting a good, high quality education in college is very important to me. I would like to enter into a career in the engineering field after graduation. There is nothing I want to do more than play college football. I work my hardest at everything I do, I am fully committed, and would like to be on a team with players and coaches with the same mentality.
