My name is Charlie Staley, I am a 6’1” 190lbs 16 year old, all around football player. I have been playing football since I was 4 years old. I fell in love with the game from the very moment I stepped onto the field for the first time during flag football. Since then, my dream to play football has grown throughout the years. My family has influenced me to follow my dreams, and work hard in order to succeed in school and football. I have realized the determination, effort and willpower that is needed in order for me to succeed. I plan to give my all at all times in order to succeed and reach my goal of playing college football.
As a freshman my biggest accomplishment was playing starting Safety for the Varsity football team. As a sophomore I became more of an all around football player, playing as a quarterback, running back, wide receiver and free safety. That was a truly amazing experience as it showed me that hard work really does pay off. My Junior yr came to a halt the 1st game of the season. My Fibula got broken & torn ligament in my ankle. I have learned that I can accomplish anything that I put my mind to on and off the field. I am now 100% cleared and ready to prove I'm stronger then the setback!
I have quick feet and great team skills, as well as being a great example for others. I try to set examples for my peers both on and off the field. I always try to encourage my teammates and keep positive attitudes, and motivation. I strive to be my best, but I am always open minded to constructive criticism, so I can become a better athlete. I pride myself on being a student of the game. Not only does my personality and attitude make me very coachable, the effort that I put in is what I am known for. I believe I would be a good asset to any college, and team as I give 150% in everything I do on and off the field, as well as having the ability of quick thinking in any situation I am put in.
In the classroom I study hard and do my best to maintain a good GPA. I currently hold a 2.7 GPA. I have some academic goals set for myself for high school and college. My high school goals are to continue to strive academically and maintain a high enough GPA in order to play sports, graduate and be recruited into college. I am currently taking shop classes, which will set me up for what I want to do during college. My academic goals for college are completing all the courses I need to in order to become a certified mechanic.
I have a mindset of wanting to attend a college that will challenge me both academically and athletically. I am open to all options, as I want to find the best college that will fit me both athletically and academically. I will continue to strive to be my best on and off the field. I desire to play at the highest level possible, positively impacting myself and the college I choose. Not only do I aspire to become a successful student and athlete, but a successful role model to those around me. Above all else, my ultimate goal is to follow my dreams, making my family, friends, coaches and myself proud.
