As quoted by Tim Notkey, “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.” Because of this, I model my work ethic after my hard-working parents and the athletes that came before me. I continue to work hard in every aspect of my life, and football plays a big part in that. It has always been a passion of mine because I grew up playing football with the kids in my neighborhood. During my freshman year of high school, I started to look at football as a career instead of just a hobby. Football has taught me to be a leader in my community, to never give up on anything, and to be a great role model and influence others in a positive way. Football is known as the game of life; it molds boys into men. This sport motivates me to be great academically. As of now, I am ranked 26th in my class, and I am continuously striving for an even higher rank. Through my determination and work-hard mentality, my ultimate goal is to play football at the collegiate level, graduate, and become a proprietor of my own company. The opportunity to play football at the collegiate level has always been a dream of mine, and I am willing to do everything in my power to make my dream come true. As Les Brown once said, “The graveyard is the richest place on earth because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled.” Much like my athletic predecessors, I will not leave my dreams unfulfilled.
