As a kid I always thoroughly enjoyed any sport or competition, whether that be catching punts from my brother( ten years older in age) and trying to get around him to the other side of the yard without getting tackled, playing intense games of one on one in the driveway with my dad, or even small things like playing board games with my sister. My first love was basketball: almost every morning between 6th grade and sophomore year my dad and I would roll out of bed at 5:15 A.M. and go to our local gym to lift. After school if I didn't have practice I was back at the gym shooting. One day in study hall my current special team coach, Coach Gschwender, asked if there would be anyone interested in kicking for him. I raised my hand as a joke but he took it very seriously. The rest was history: 10 years of soccer instincts took over and I started my first football game of my life 5 weeks after awkwardly raising my hand. After a few months I realized I had so much more natural talent in kicking and my passions shifted in dramatic fashion. I started to lift 4 times a week with the goal of kicking further instead of lifting for basketball. That's where I currently sit, trying to juggle the workouts to continue to improve my kicking and keeping my 4.08 GPA which I take very seriously to protect. I would love to get the chance to kick at a high level where I can continue to grow academically and as a kicker.
