My name is Jonah Roberts, and I have been playing football since I was in kindergarten. I am a multi-sport athlete. I play basketball, baseball, and run track. I have had a lot of success in athletics and academics. I have been a starter for my varsity football team my freshman, sophomore, and junior years. On offense I play running back, and slot receiver, and on defense I play strong safety. I am also a kick and punt returner. I earned All-District and All-Conference honors my sophomore year. My junior year, I earned First Team All-State RB, First Team All-District RB, and First Team All-Conference RB. I broke school records in single season rushing yards (1,706) and single season rushing touchdowns (26). Also, I was an all-state track runner in the 100 m dash my sophomore year. In my junior track season, I earned All-State honors in 100 and 200 meter dash. At the Missouri State Track and Field Championships I earned second place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.00 seconds, and fourth place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.21 seconds. Academically, I have had much success too. My freshman, sophomore, and junior years I earned Academic Excellence. I scored a 25 on my ACT and I am ranked first in my class with a 3.977 unweighted GPA. Lastly, I am involved in extra curricular activities including National Honor Society, Student Council, and I am the class president.
I have many qualities that would make me a good asset to your football team. I believe the most important of my qualities is my work ethic, attitude, and love and passion for the game of football. I am a committed athlete, and am determined to be successful and be the best that I can be. I understand the importance of the weight room and off-season training, and am committed to work hard in the off-season. I am a team player and always work hard so I can be the best I can for the better of my team. I am very coach-able and have a good attitude towards training and criticism. I am constantly setting goals for myself to improve.
