My name is Jesse Pearson, I have grown up in rural Montana where hard work is part of the culture. The mindset of always working hard at whatever you are doing has paid off in the classroom and on the field. By working hard in the classroom I have been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout my High School career and am currently ranked first in my class. Additionally, I was able to score a 31 on the ACT this spring.
I am a three year starter on the varsity team. As a Freshman I was given the team coaches award. My Sophomore year I was selected for All-Conference and chosen as the team MVP. As a Junior I was 2nd in the state, all classes, with 134 tackles and led the state in all classes with 14.9 tackles per game. I also led the state, all classes, in receptions. I was selected for All-Conference and All-State as well as being chosen as the team MVP. On the field I have played many different positions and consider versatility one of my strengths as well as my work ethic and my intensity. I love to hit, and over the past year I have learned to love the weight room. Team success is a matter of pride to me. We have made the playoffs in all three years of my high school football career and we fully intend to make it back this upcoming season.
This spring I was given the opportunity to become a mentor to elementary students. The experience has helped me to understand the impact that I can have, positive or negative depending on my choices, on the next generation. This understanding has given me the drive to always make the right choices. I have learned that while on the surface it doesn't appear this way, the time and the effort that you put in when you think nobody is watching is what ends up making the biggest difference.
Ever since I can remember I have aspired to play football at the collegiate level. I hope to find a school with a positive culture that will challenge me academically while providing an opportunity to continue my football career. I am open to and will seriously consider all opportunities that come my way.
