I haven't had an ideal start as a football player. I grew up playing soccer my whole life. I didn't think in a million years I would stop playing the sport I loved. That all changed when football was brought into my life. As a sophomore I was asked to do kicking and kicking only due to my spot on the varsity soccer team. I dedicated a lot of time into kicking and getting good at it. During our games I would sit at the sidelines watching my teammate make tackles and catches. I wanted to play so bad but knew I was committed to soccer. That all changed when I was invited to run some routes with my team. I thought I would just be doing this for fun. Turns out I had a natural ability for running routes and catching the football. In fact some of the soccer moves I did translate over to the football field. The best decision I ever made was to play football fulltime and put soccer aside. I dedicated everything that I had to becoming the best football player I could be. I had a good start to my football career until I got a season ending injury. I've never felt that kind of pain before. Not being able to play the rest of the season made me so mad. I came to the realization that the only way for me to overcome this is to move forward. So I did that. I went to PT and got my foot back to normal. I worked out everyday pushing myself beyond failure so I can be the best version of myself. I've committed to getting better at football drills with my coaches’ input and I have also become a smarter player by regularly watching film. No matter the situation I will always be the hardest working person in the room. I refuse to be out worked.
