My name is Joseph Anthony Vorreas. My aspirations for my future are set high, and im willing to overcome any given obstacle to reach my goals. I've not only shown good qualities athletically, but academically as well. I have held a individual 4.0 GPA or higher every year through high school so far. My overall GPA as shown is a 3.8. Now my Standardized testing may not be the best but that doesn't mean I dont work hard and push myself to do the best I physically and mentally can do. I am a straight A student that is very passionate about what I love the most, and that is sports. I have been playing baseball for 13 years now, and football for 11. The high school I attend right now, East Brunswick Vo-Tech does not have a football team, so until I was able to get my license I was not able to play football for the first three years of high school. I was devastated, but I did not let that stop me from being active, so within those three years I played soccer my junior season. Once senior year came around I was able to play football again. I walked into the first day not knowing many kids. As the season went on I got more and more comfortable with them as they were becoming a second family to me. My passion for these sports is very strong, whether i'm on or off the field i'm always thinking of ways to improve not only for my self but my team as well. I don't want to take all the credit for trying to be the best I possibly can be. My family played a major role in pushing me forward and always supporting me no matter what obstacles were thrown my way. My older brother showed me the path to being a leader. My mom showed me that giving up is never an option, instead to push myself to be the best version of myself I can possibly be, because that will follow me throughout my whole life. Lastly, my dad. Not only has he been there for me, taking me to every game, every practice, and showing me the little things that will make me better not only physically but mentally, he also showed me how to be a presentable and respectful young man in today's society. I will forever be grateful for what my family has done for me, making me the person I am today.
