As a child, I have always loved the game of football. I remember every Sunday sitting with my Dad to watch our team, the New York Giants. The excitement truly came to life when I had the opportunity to go to a game, to hear the roars of the excitement in the air, as we cheered our team on. Growing up I always played competitive sports such as soccer and basketball but it wasn't until my Freshman year of High School that I began my career as a football player. Once I started, I knew there was no turning back!
As a sophomore, I was fortunate enough to start as a Varsity kicker and punter. I worked hard, especially during the off season to get physically and mentally stronger, training with my kicking coach, as well as my team and at the same time continuing to work hard at my academics. There must be a balance between athletics and school in order to truly be successful as collegiate player. As a junior this year, I had the opportunity to take some leadership classes with my coach and use these skills on and off the field, motivating teammates, celebrating successes and sharing advice and mentoring underclassmen.
Freshman and sophomore year I was awarded the Special Teams MVP award for my acheivements on the field, hard work and desire to be a strong team player. This year as a junior, I hope to win the award again but in the meantime I was named First Team Division Punter. Receiving this award was an honor and it drives me to be the best player I can be and continue to challenge myself to improve myself and my skills.
During all of my years as an athlete, I have been fortunate to have inspiring coaches. Together they have helped me become the person, student, athlete and leader I am today. I look forward to my future in college and believe that I have the skills and commitment to play on a collegiate football team. I am a coachable team player who will make a positive impact to your program, I will put forth 100% on and off the field focusing on both my athletics and my academics. I look forward to attending a college that will challenge me athletically but more important challenge me academically. I want to be a part of a college community that will help me continue to grow as a person while preparing me for my future after college. I look forward to my future and getting the most I can academically from college while contributing athletically to the football program.
