I love hitting people...hard! My love for football started when I was 6 years old. I was the only 1st grader on the 3rd-grade team. Ever since I was a pee-wee player in PAL, the competitiveness and contact was exhilarating. I have always been a top player because of my dedication, passion, and commitment on and off the field. As a freshman, I was invited to move to varsity as the starting middle linebacker for the varsity team. It was a great learning experience for me. It taught me humility that hard work paid off and helped me learn what I was made of. My work in the weight room, agility training and practice prepared me for Friday nights. I enjoy the sense of community pride and playing alongside friends, whom I’ve many known since kindergarten.
My family has always stressed academics before sports, friends or social activities. I recognize that having goals and maintaining balance is essential to success. Keeping an A average, holding a part-time job and playing football/lacrosse helps me to prioritize what’s important. I will always be an athlete, but achieving academic excellence is a differentiator. I have always loved science, physics, problem solving and mechanics. I hope to acquire a job somewhere in the field of engineering where I can better the lives of everyone around me. I can see myself as someone who innovates in the engineering field. I build and repair mini-bikes, go carts and dirt bikes I have a passion for both gas and electric engines.
I am looking for a college with a challenging and renowned engineering program. I look forward to contributing to building a complex social environment. I’m very self-motivated. If I see that something that needs to get accomplished, I take it upon myself to do it. For example, in my high school principals of engineering class, I led my group in creating a winning balsa wood bridge and cardboard chair. I have used what I’ve learned in the field to guide my life. I am a team player who sees the big picture; problem solves, anticipates possibilities and makes decisions. Football has taught me to be a leader and cultivate relationships.
I hope to continue to develop my football awareness, technique, and physical strength to become a student of the game. What separates me from my peers is that I have the dedication, work ethic, commitment and perseverance to succeed at the next level. High school football has helped me build a solid foundation for my future, based on principles and experiences that can only be taught through the game.
