My name is Aidan Casuccio, I am 18 years old, 6’4”, 230 pounds with a 79” wingspan. Current ‘23 Post Graduate at The Hun School of Princeton, Princeton NJ. I am a dual sport Varsity athlete in Football (fall) and Swim (winter).
Other physical achievements: 280 lbs bench press, 465 lbs back squat, 305 lbs power clean, and a 550 lbs trap bar dead lift.
I began playing football my freshman year of high school after years of playing soccer, lacrosse, and swimming. Nearly the first day of practice, I was hooked on the sport and realized how it truly is the ultimate team sport. I still love to swim and have been awarded the captain of my Varsity team this year. But when in a huddle, looking into each others eyes knowing we have a specific mission over the next 5 seconds, the feeling is nearly indescribable. My love for the sport unfortunately did not help the fact that I'm, as my father describes it, a late bloomer. My aggression was there but my size and strength really only started to kick in the summer before my senior year. My first two seasons I played both tight end and middle line backer for our Freshman and Junior Varsity teams. Junior year, I was asked to focus my efforts on the tight end and long snapper positions after I secured the backup Varsity spot. I played in all double tight end sets but unfortunately, did not have the chance to compete like I dId this past season. This year (‘21), I was our starting tight end in a running offense. I truly enjoy the blocking component of the position but will admit, there is nothing like the coach calling my number as the primary target in a play.. This year I totaled 22 catches for 233 yards and four touchdowns within a run first offense. I was personally selected as first team all division and my team was 2nd place in Group 3 NJ sections.
Understanding the recruiting process really begins before Senior year, I decided to enroll in the Hun School of Princeton for a Post Graduate year. This decision makes me a 2023 target. I have focused on what was in my power both mentally and physically prior to my body enabling me to compete at the next level playing football. Coaches often complement me on how quickly I understand a new scheme or concept they are trying to teach. Academically, I've earned a 3.75 GPA and a 1,300 SAT score. Fortunately, my performance and current physical attributes helped me get recruited to play at one of the top Prep School programs in the country. This direction allows me an extra year to work on my size, strength, and speed before getting to your program.
My parents fully support me in pursuing my dream to play football at the collegiate level. To any coach and university interested in recruiting me, I am a hard working, determined, and versatile athlete that is capable of performing on and off the field, including the classroom.
Thank you for your consideration,
Aidan Anthony Casuccio
