Derrick Schmidt '24 Recruiting Profile

I am Derrick Schmidt. I started my football career in the fall of 2021 which was my sophomore year at Lakota High School. That year I was the back up center and defensive tackle. The next year my junior year, I was starting center and defensive tackle for the Nelson county Chargers. The thing that makes me better then the other recruits is that I am willing to put in hours upon hours of time and dedication on the field and in the weight room to not only make me better at this great sport but to also make the team I am on the best it can be. Currently I spend 2 hours in the gym every night of the week and on the weekend I run through my position drills. My academics standout from the rest because I have been a straight A student since the 3rd grade. I have had a 3.5/4.0 gpa all through out high school. I have received student of the quarter 4 times in the last 4 years. I am in many after school foundations including National Honor society, FFA, FBLA, SADD. I know I will be a great choice for your team, all I ask of you is to give me a chance and I promise that I won't let the team or its coaches down.
