I've been Varsity Quarterback for my High School Team for the last two years. (Soph. Junior) I play at a smaller school with about 100 kids in each grade. I love the game of football and I'm constantly in the chase of greatness! I am extremely competitive and a natural leader. I continue to work on my leadership skill on the field and in the classroom. I have been selected Captain of the Varsity football team the last two seasons as well as a Captain for the Varsity Wrestling team the past two seasons as well. Hard work and respect towards others were instilled in me as a young kid, as I grew up helping with the family Pizza Shop. I take pride in being a student of the game, I want to learn as much as I can about the mental and physical part of the game of football. My sophomore season, two of our wins from touchdown drives late in the fourth quarter (1:40 75 yd drive, 1:20 80 yd drive) both coming primarily from passing. I love when the game is on the line and I have the opportunity to show my preparation and go to be great with my teammates. This past season (junior year) we faced adversity. Along with facing challenges caused by the pandemic, injuries also affected our team. Two of our starting wide receivers were out after game 1, and we had linemen in and out all year. As a Captain, I kept preaching to the guys and myself to control what we can control and make the next best decision. I've been diving into the mental aspect of staying neutral, not getting too high and not getting too low, allowing yourself to stay in the moment and continue to make the best decisions to win the game. It was apparent that it works because in our last home game we were down 21 - 0 at halftime and ended up winning 28-27. Along with that, we were able to travel on the road and get our school's first playoff game win since 2003. I am first to practice/workouts and last to leave, always trying to do the 1% more to get ahead of my competition. I'm continuing to develop my craft physically and mentally as a Quarterback and I'm just asking for an opportunity to learn and given the chance to chase greatness. I believe greatness is an everyday thing, I wake up and tell myself to be great today, why not you, go be great. I know that good grades in school will get me farther in life than football so I have a goal to succeed in school as well. I know once you get to college, football turns into your job. I am excited about this because people always say if you find a job you enjoy doing every day that it doesn't feel like a job. Thinking about having football taking up my free time, waking up early, and going to morning workouts, knowing everything is preparing me for game day on Saturday gives me butterflies in my stomach. All in all, I have a passion for the game, and for knowledge of the game that just keeps growing as I get older. Thank you for taking the time to read this! Why Not You? BE GREAT!
