Derek Burton '23 Recruiting Profile

As a young student athlete, what I can bring to the table is 110% effort, a gritty attitude, and a scrappy player who is never going to give up on a play. In the classroom, I have aspirations. My main aspiration in the classroom is to graduate from college with a 3.0 GPA or above. I would like to major in Automotive Technology or metal working, as I have a passion for cars and any type of motor vehicle. If you are looking for a student athlete who’s going to get down and dirty, and never give up on the team or my coaches, then I’m the player for you. I have dealt with many struggles in my life, from losing my father in the summer of 2019, to living in my grandfather's house, and losing my uncle Sam suddenly in October of 2019; each and every time I come back stronger and more determined than before.
