From going undefeated in middle school, to starting running back my sophomore and junior year, my football career has taken me on an amazing journey. I was able to play with 3 other backs my sophomore year, and learned something from each one of their styles. The road to the playoffs was filled with ups and downs, through this, I was able to learn the value of teamwork, commitment, and preparation. I incorporated these into my game in my junior year and plan to lead the team to another playoff run my senior year. Even after having to split carries with 3 other running backs, I was still able to average over 10 yards a carry in my sophomore year. Additionally I was honored to make All-Conference first team and received recognition from several newspapers.
In my junior year, we had a whole new coaching staff. I was easily able to adapt to the new coaching style, system, and playbook. My coaches and teammates voted me as a captain on the team because of my leadership skills on and off the field. I do everything I can to not only make myself better, but also my teammates around me. In the classroom I strive to be the best student I can, making high honors every quarter my sophomore year and once in my junior year. I was proud to receive the Challenge Program award for most improved student out of my whole class. Though I haven’t settled on a career path, I know I’m ready to play at the next level and I will do whatever it takes to achieve my dream.
