Personal Statement

I am the 6’2”, 190 pound athletic Pro Style Quarterback from DuBois, Pennsylvania. This will be my third year starting for the DuBois Area High School varsity football team as a Junior. My biggest accomplishment of my varsity football career so far is breaking the national record for passing yards and total yards in a game (787) and tying the record for passing touchdowns in a game (10). I owe this success to our offensive linemen who never give up on a play and to our receivers who catch everything I throw at them! In my first 2 seasons as a starter, I have thrown for 6,126 passing yards averaging 340 yards per game.

As a QB, I strive to be a leader for our football team. My goal is to better myself everyday both on the field and in the classroom. Academics always come first for me; doing well in the classroom is my number one objective. The biggest goal of mine for the future is to receive a scholarship to play football at the college level.  Other sports I play are baseball and basketball.

You can visit my QB Hit List profile, where they have a detailed scouting evaluation on me, using this link: http://www.qbhitlist.com/user-profile/?userid=8588

Head Coach Justin Marshall's Comments:

Matt has had great success over the past two years as a quarterback, setting state and national records. He is a student of the game and a hard working kid, who can succeed in any system. Despite personal success, his main focus remains on team victories, both in the regular season and in the playoffs. He is in command of the offense, and his presence is felt in the huddle. It’s almost like having a coach on the field. He is the kinds of quarterback that every coach wishes he could work with.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
