When I won the PA Girls State Championship going in as the youngest of the bracket, a freshman was one of the brighter parts of my high school career. Moving into this year as a sophomore I feel that I have moved forward in improving my skills, even if I have improved just a little bit I know that I will continue to push my self to improve just a little more every year. Working with my high school team has helped me in focusing on how I can improve my own efforts to become a solid wrestler capable of wrestling at the college level. Along side my team, my friends and family have been a huge influencer on who I have become as far as a wrestler. In my toughest times they have been there to help guide me through it and help me find and experience new ways to over come any obstacle.
I was blessed by becoming a part of this amazing sport by my dad. He was a JO coach and after a few times of going with him to the practices and watching the wrestlers I asked my dad to sign me up. I have learned that while in a match you put your heart into it, and leave everything on the mat. My academic goals is to find a college that works with me physically and academically, a college that fits my academic needs. I have had to overcome sexism, judgement, and feminin stereotyping for being a girl wrestling in what is considered a "boys sport". Some unique skills I possess would be leadership by empowering other women to join a male-dominated sport and I posses adaptability by being able to adapt to any difficulties no matter the circumstances. As the first girl wrestler in my area I know I have what it takes to be on your team.
