Joshua Asante '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello, I’m Joshua Asante, a Downingtown East High School Junior. I love the game of football very passionately. I am a competitor on and off the field.  I’m a hard worker, dependable, and respectful kid. 

I have been playing football since middle school and I’m currently a 3 year running back starter for the Downingtown football team. I enjoy the excitement, discipline, and competitiveness that football offers.

 As a multi-sport student athlete (also play baseball for my high school team), I have interest in schools that combine academic excellence with a strong football program. I am a bit undecided on my career options but leaning towards sports medicine as an orthopedic surgeon someday. 

 I’ve  consistently maintained a strong GPA and currently have 4.10 average. I’m a member of the National Honor Society. 

   I made the DLN Second Team All Area Running back in the 2020 season. I’ve been nominated  to be the football team captain for the 2021 football season.

   I was given Cougar Excellence Award( an award that recognizes good citizenship, positive attitude and outstanding character) my freshman year. 

       Currently a member of the HYPE club, an organization that promotes healthy living in the communities. I’ve been nominated to help with the special Olympics, which I’m looking forward to.   I travelled to Mexico as part of my Church’s youth program to help build homes and engage troubled youth and orphans. 

 I’m very excited and look forward to getting to know more about your football program, and academic offerings.
